Chinatown

The largest Chinatown in North America. It originally was made up of people from Canton but after the ban on Chinese immigrants was lifted in the 1960s a lot of people from other areas of China started to arrive so there's really two Chinatowns - the old southern one and the new northern one.

The northern end of Chinatown is slowly engulfing Little Italy. We were surrounded by Chinese buildings for about 2 blocks before we saw the "Welcome to Little Italy" signs. Give it another 10 years and Little Italy will probably not even exist.

One of the non-events but still interesting things we discovered was the Wing Fat Mansion which was really a building with a basement full of odd stores. There's not much there now as it's closing but at one point it was a stop on the underground railroad.
