For Valentine's day we did a long weekend trip to Victoria, British Columbia via the Victoria Clipper. In a little over 2 hrs you can be in Victoria from downtown Seattle. Being that it was for Valentine's day we stayed at the Empress Hotel.

Overall I was impressed with Victoria. It's small and walkable so taking the Clipper is a good way to go. We ran into some really strong waves going both ways so motion sickness medicine is recommended. 

Food options in Victoria are actually really good for such a small town. They also have some great pubs as well.
