Split is Croatia's second largest city and the largest in Dalmatia. I've never been too drawn to Split itself although it has amazing old Roman ruins that people still live in and a phenomenal green market. Split has been discovered by the partiers and backpackers so during the summer it's one big rave. The suburbs are drab communistic buildings.
However, Split is the most practical city in Dalmatia due to the transportation connections, businesses and tourist opportunities. Our hunt forĀ future property is centered here.
There's something to be said for drinking your early morning coffee in a 1700 year old Roman palace. I'd like to see Split after all the crazies have gone and it's settled down for the winter.
